The Chamber Music Gallery ( CMG) is composed of professional musicians
whose mission it is to showcase and foster an appreciation of chamber music.
CMG was founded in 2009 by Anna Antropova, the present artistic director. Her desire was to perform chamber music masterworks and premiere contemporary Canadian compositions utilizing a variety of instruments. Anna has recruited a group of unique and highly skilled artists for these performances, including Atis Bankas, described by Peter Hall, Host of WNED Radio, Buffalo, NY as an exceptional talent, and one of the greatest living violinists and Narine Mardoyan, former music professor at the Yerevan State Conservatory, soloist with the Berlin International Orchestra, and winner of the Best Virtuoso Performance in Piano & Violin Duets at Reneassiance International Competition.
This season ( 2013 /2014) is exciting indeed! Our November 29 concert will feature a rare performance of the string quartet by
N. Paganini , as well as the concerto for four violins by A. Vivaldi, the Armenian Medieval Tagh and more!
On March 2, CMG is hosting a fundraising concert for the Clinical & Metabolic Genetics Research Program at Sick Children's Hospital in support of research into Glycogen Storage Disease, a devastating rare disorder.
The program for this concert, includes the Piano Concerto No.1 by F.Chopin and the Piano Quintet Op.44. by R.Schumann. The soloist is an amazing young pianist, our dear friend 14 year old Anson Hui, , who won 1st prize at the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra Competition, as well as the Canadian Music Competition and other prestigious awards.
In our final concert on May 9 we will proudly feature four-time world champion accordionist Alexander Sevastian, who is going to perform music by I. Stravinsky, R. Luedeke, and other composers.
We are looking forward to presenting this wonderful music and hope you will join us to savour the thrill of a live concert performance!
